Madden 16 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread

this is one of my favorite threads in the NBA 2k forums so I figured madden could use one too.

Just a place to for people to ask questions about how things work in the game, strategies, etc.

Whats the fastest way to develop a DB in an owners mode CFM?

What attributes should I focus on?

Really depends what you need him you to do. I like my safeties to be cover guys so mcv and zcv are always my first choices. But if need a run support safety I'd go tackle and block shed.

With any defensive player it's also important to increase play recognition

Yeah - how do you stop a QB from throwing for 90%?

Romo is killing me on curls, even though I'm shading out and when I do commit outside the middle is wide NCAA style.

I love the challenge, but defense is loose as water.

Who you playing with? Skins?


If so its likely not the game and possibly the CBs that you have on the outside. Not in front of the playbook right now but try to call a play or hot route to flat zone (blue circles) with cover underneath set globally (pre play hot route).


This should hopefully cover up those curls while not exposing the middle as much.


You could also try calling a OLB blitz playcall and then hot route the OLB into the flat zone. This would get you M2M on the outside and a guy underneath so the QB can't throw low without a possible INT.

I've tried purple outside, buzz purple from middle to outside and nothing, but a laser beam on curls
Defense is lathargic at most times.

hey this is a great idea i really like this thread.

teach me how to extend players contracts during the season

it was about week 10 and my MLB asks for new contract. i gave him exactly what it said he 'desired' and he rejected it. so for my DE i gave him a little bit more then what was desired. and he rejected it. is there a trick to this?
