Your favorite shotgun formation/plays

Building a hybrid pass heavy playbook based around spreading the defense by staying in 5-wide sets 85%~ of the time. But while I was looking through all the different formations it surprised me how many different variations of the base "shotgun" there are. So what are your favorite formations from shotgun, or favorite plays? I'm not looking for cheese, just looking for the diamonds in the rough without going through and personally labbing every play out of every set

Re: Your favorite shotgun formation/plays

One formation I have to have in shotgun playbooks is Shotgun: Normal Flex Wing...

If you keep a fast HB, they have a HB Dive in the formation that can be golden... along with slants and a couple other useful plays on short yardage situations.

Re: Your favorite shotgun formation/plays

My favorite shotgun formation is Twin TE Flex. Out of this, here are a few plays I really dig:

Quick slant: 2 WR's on one side, 2 TE's tight on the other. I like to hot route one of the TE's on a streak upfield, and often keep the other TE in to block as I roll out in the direction of the two WR slants. (I can usually only make 3 reads max, so this one is perfect for me.)

HB Off Tackle: puts a TE in motion and is a neat one to read the holes and cut-back opportunities.

HB Slip Screen: Just so fun to burn the defense with. Tonight I was playing and got sacked and was facing a 3rd and 16. I dumped the screen to my uncovered HB and got 31 yards out of it. Very satisfying.....

Re: Your favorite shotgun formation/plays

I love shotgun formations but for the most part I love the pistol formation much more because of the variety

One of my favorite formations to run now is Shotgun Heavy. I have a QB on my roster that is pretty much a Denard Robinson clone so I just put him back there and run the inside zone play it's a big gain almost every time.

All of Wing Offset formations (normal or trips), particularly the weak alignment with the HB and TE/H-Back on different sides of the QB. Also, Spread Offset is great for a variety of option plays/screens/fake screens (Fake Bubble Slant is a goody).

Also love Flanker Close wk (Run and Shoot plays along with wide trap/cake option and inside zone) and Spread Flex wk (Air Raid heaven).
