Player Creation

Could you please write some feature articles on player creation? Focus on the 4 offensive positions (Quarterback, Wide Receiver, Tight End and Running Back) as well as the 6 defensive positions (Defensive End, Defensive Tackle, Middle Linebacker, Outside Linebacker, Cornerback and Safety) that we can use in player career mode.

Include an image of a player, his physical appearance details and well as his attributes.

For example there are 5 types of Quarterbacks to choose from (Balanced, Pocket Passer, Strong Arm, Field General and West Coast). Include an image of this player and their specific appearance details (chest size, arm size, arm definition, belly, rear, thigh, calf and shoe). Also include all their exact attributes (speed, throwing power, play action etc.) and describe this type of player. You may even want to mention a few comparable players that fit into that category of player. Also include their accessories and player traits (tuck & run, throw ball away, sense pressure, high motor skill y/n? etc.).

It’d be beneficial to compare each type of player in each position so when we design fictitious players (including our own NFL rookie) we can do so accurately and quickly. It’d be more efficient if there already was an article that posted this information for us and it included a spreadsheet with all the exact numbers.

It would also be educational to have a few pages on colleges. Perhaps have a list of each state and include each college that is in that specific state (in order of talent level, popularity, reputation etc.).

It’d also be educational to have a few pages on states. Perhaps have some descriptions on each state and list the most populated cities in each state. It may help people design their fictitious players and create a back story for their players.

When creating players there should be some sort of guideline on each attribute bar. Perhaps a thin red line would work well to notify the user of the recommended range to stay within. These parameters adhere to the BE A PRO PLAYER used in the franchise mode if the user chooses to play as one player. For example the parameters for a QB’s speed are 55-75 because a pocket passer QB has a speed rating of 55 and a west coast QB has a speed rating of 75.

The whole point of this is to encourage people to create a plethora of players. By doing this you’ll add depth to each team, competitiveness when you play against each team and more competition in the Rookies of the Year award races.

Lastly, we would all get to customize our player a bit more rather than have to choose one of those template players. As long as we stay within the recommended parameters it should still be considered fair right? I’m curious to hear what the EA Sports Madden team and all the fans of the game think about this idea. Keep up the good work! Go Seahawks Go!

Re: Player Creation

I've read this several times and not sure what this is about. Care to elaborate a bit more? It sounds like you want some parameters to create a player for a fictitious league.

Re: Player Creation

Yeah I'm a little lost, sounds like he's asking for a template for each of the player scheme types available in CFM. IIRC when you CREATE QB you only have three types, Pocket, Balanced, and Scrambler.

The other types he lists you will only see iirc once you go into schemes inside the CFM.
