The Most Important Question for Madden 16: Is Geno Smith still Geno Manning?

We all know about 58 OVR backup quarterbacks coming in off the bench and completing 90% of their passes. Now, supposedly the next Madden will adjust QB accuracy, but I wonder if that's the only issue. The artificial intelligence and pass rush really need to be adjusted, too.

First, the pass rush needs to be fierce, not nurfed like they did with the small patch. To avoid sacks, qbs need to move in the pocket and get rid of the ball faster- INCLUDING INTO THE DIRT, because probably half of all incompletions in the NFL are either over throws or skid into the dirt at the wrs feet. So, more inaccuracy, but also more throw aways. The real NFL has many more than Madden.

Thankfully, with the db/wr interactions, we probably finally see more knock downs.

But regardless, we need CPU quarterbacks to throw faster when under pressure, and we need more of those passes to be throw aways and poor passes that no one touches.

But most importantly, we need only the ELITE quarterbacks to play like elite quarterbacks. Only guys like Tom Brady and Peyton Manning should sniff at a 70% completion rate. Geno Smith? His career mark is 58%. No way he hits on 19-22 passes for 2 TDs against a talented defense like we've all experienced.

Agreed 100% but the devs believe and probably accurately I might add that most casuals dont want to see between 30-50 % of their passes in the dirt, which is why madden needs two settings in addition to levels, an arcade and a sim.

True, but I'm strictly talking about CPU AI. Human error is enough to keep human completion percentage close to correct, but the CPU quarterback AI is just too perfect.

The vids from e3 seem to show improvement here but they fooled me last year too so we just gotta wait for the final product

Man, I saw a vid where Kaepernick is under pressure on a screen I think. First, he should have thrown it at the rbs feet. But second, he broke a tackle and had a huge running lane, but instead turned away from the line of scrimmage tiward the other endzone and just stood there until he got sacked.

So, I am at this point more skeptical than hopeful, but we will see.

Lowering the CPU sliders helped last year, I'll do it again this year if needed.

The WR DB interaction is great, but I don't want the incompletions I see to be swats or pass break ups. Watching Josh McCown last year throw balls too high or too far out of bounds is what I want. And I want to happen both consistently and realistically, as in being under pressure, not setting your feet, throwing too soon or too late all lead to inaccurate passes.

Yep for sure. I threw my share of WTF passes in the TMW league last year.. Lol
That was a combination of sliders and the crappy confidence stuff.

Hopefully a good balance can be had with M16.
