Opposite field homeruns

Does anyone feel that most of the homeruns in the game are hit opposite field?? Seems like every one I hit are and most of the ones I see the cpu hit.

well the pitcher is either pitching away from the batter making it more likely for the batter to hit opposite field or the batter is swinging late. I believe if you have a pull hitter at bat you generally want the ball to be in so you can pull it. i generally think thats how it works.

No, I see more pull shot homers or dead center homeruns than oppo shots.

It definitely is easier to generate power when you pull...

That said, a lot of gamers don't react as quickly and therefore tend to wait a split second longer, which cause them to go to the opposite field more. Given that split second, they can square up a bit more and that leads to more power. This can happen with or without intention... so I do think it is still a bit too rewarding to go for the opposite field hit.

I think the power to the opposite field should be nerfed a little bit more... so that if you want to go for the fences, you sacrifice bat control a bit more.

This might also help with reducing the ground-out to RF thing.

Would make pitching away worthwhile against power types.

Even if they do hit it well, it would be more likely with less power than if it was a inside ball they squared up on.

Plus, if they are early and send it out to CF, it would more likely die for an out with the lowered power generation.

Playing as RH SS for the Red Sox in RTTS I would love to hit more opposite field homers. Out of my 21 HRs this season, I think I have hit 2 opposite field HRs. A lot of the doubles and singles that I drill off the Monster in left or the 365+ feet outs to center would be HRs if I hit them to the right. Like Nomo said, it's easier generate power if you pull the ball; a lot of the times if I try to go opposite field with a power swing it's a weak single or easy fly out.

I tend to pull my HRs. However, I do see more opposite fielders then real life stats say I should be seeing. It's a lot better than a few years ago, where the vast majority of my homers were opposite field.

I'm late on my swing but nonetheless I shouldn't hit a homerun to opposite fid with Denorfia or Dexter Fowler. And see them hit opposite field by guys who have power ratings in the 40s and low 50s. At least they should be rare or much harder.
