Angry NBA Live 2006 Acting Up

Yes, I know, it's an old game but that doesn't matter. I'm having a problem signing new players onto my roster. I currently have 12 players and three IR slots open. Every time I try to sign a couple of players, they say there's no room left. This is in Dynasty mode. Can someone tell me why is that? Plus I have -8 million dollars in cap space with six million in waived salaries. How is it in real life teams can resign players when they are over the cap and sign new ones but on the video games we can't. Can someone explain to me that?

In real life you can resign your own players even if you are over the cap as long as you have their bird rights. You can sign players that aren't your own with the mid level exception if you are over the cap but under the tax line. If you are over the tax there is another exception but it's for less than the mid level. Hope this helps, I'm not sure how deep live 06 was in terms of the Cba and Cap management. Also waiving players doesn't take them off your cap #, just off your team

What about signing players when you have a roster of 12? Max roster can have 15 players and they won't let me sign anymore. I only have 12 players.

If you're over the cap you can only use one exception, maybe you've already used one

I've resigned all my previous free agents and my draft picks. Waived two players and traded a third. Went down from 14 to 12 players. What does the exception have to do with filling up your rosters. It's not like I'm way over the cap.

If your 1 cent over the cap you need exceptions to sign people

How do you get those exceptions? Do you use them to resign your players that were free agents the year before?
