Confirmed Classic Teams for NBA 2k16

With the announcement of new classic teams in the last 2kTV Episode. I thought it would be better to discuss the matter in a single thread. But focusing on the roster of each team. Also will 2k keep the current classic teams that exist in '15?

Hopefully 2k includes at least 8 essential players of each respected team. Minimizing the amount of "John Browns" and "James Smith." For example the 2001 76ers Team is missing Eric Snow who was a vital part of the team. 2k should avoid doing that as much as possible for every team.

In bold will be the missing players that are needed in order for complete authenticity.

2001 Lakers
Kobe Bryant
Shaquille O'Neal
Derek Fisher
Rick Fox
Horace Grant
Robert Horry
Brian Shaw
Tyronn Lue(not sure if he exists as assistant coach)

2000 Raptors
Vince Carter
Tracy McGrady (MyTeam)
Charles Oakley
Antonio Davis
Muggsy Bogues
Kevin Willis
Doug Christie
Dell Curry

2008 Celtics
Paul Pierce
Kevin Garnett
Ray Allen
Rajon Rondo
Kendrick Perkins
James Posey(still in FA pool?)
PJ Brown
Leon Powe(still in FA pool?)
Sam Cassell
Eddie House(still in FA pool?)
Glen Davis
Tony Allen

2008 Rockets
Yao Ming
Tracy McGrady
Luis Scola
Shane Battier
Rafer Alston
Bobby Jackson
Carl Landry
Aaron Brooks
Chuck Hayes
Dikembe Mutombo

2000 Trail Blazers
Scottie Pippen
Rasheed Wallace
Steve Smith
Arvdas Sabonis
Damon Stoudemire
Bonzi Wells
Brian Grant

Detlef Schrempf
Greg Anthony
Jermaine O'Neal

2003 Mavs
Dirk Nowitzki
Steve Nash
Michael Finley
Nick van Exel
Raef Lafrentz
Eduardo Najera
Steve Bradley

Raja Bell

2004 Pistons
Ben Wallace
Richard Hamilton

Chauncey Billups
Rasheed Wallace
Tayshaun Prince
Corliss Williamson
Lindsey Hunter
Mehmet Okur

Elden Campbell

Rick Fox, Antonio Daivs, and PJ Brown were all major parts in the team's success and shouldn't be excluded.

While on topic. Realistically what teams do you expect to be featured? Lets not reach for teams including Reggie Miller, Charles Barkley, etc.

For myself I am expecting teams that were major parts of 2000s era. Along with players that really impacted the game even though they may have never won a ring. My list goes

2008 Lakers - match up against Celtics
2004 Pistons
2004 Lakers
2006 Heat
2006 Mavericks
2007 Spurs
2007 Cavs

Non Championship Teams
2008 Rockets
2007 Suns - Spurs/Suns series that year was epic. Amare in his prime
2004 Wolves - MVP KG

Re: Confirmed Classic Teams for NBA 2k16

Good stuff here. We also have another thread on page 1 with a running list of classic teams that could be included in 2K using players already in the game, which also has recommended accessory and appearance edits for the three confirmed new classics: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...eady-game.html

It'd be nice to get those other guys in there (Rick Fox, Antonio Davis, P.J. Brown, etc.) but so far the squads confirmed fit the profile of ones that could have been created to go eight or so deep without their addition.

Re: Confirmed Classic Teams for NBA 2k16

I was a big supporter of classic teams a few years ago, but that time has passed. 2k will put little to no effort in guys like p.j and Antonio and I really can't blame them. The majority of the audience 2k attracts is to young to remember them and to be honest they had big games but weren't really that good. On top of that I don't think you can play with them online, so why go through the trouble.

Antonio Davis is a MUST for the 99-00 Raps. The only other guy needed is Dee Brown. He was actually the starting point guard for that team for the majority of that season (not Muggsey).

Anyone else, Alvin Williams, John Thomas, Yogi Stewart, Sean Marks were just bench and got very minimal playing time (note: Alvin Williams blew up the next season when replacing Mark Jackson as the starter).

This Jazz team is what I have been praying to see happen in 2k instead of the late 90s Jazz teams.

Don't know if any of you noticed but Rick Fox is in MyNBA 2K15 Mobile's MyTeam game so I'd say he will be in 2K16.
