rivalry moments?

been playing the show for a while and always wondering why rival opponents would never bean batters or already ever challenge inside. rivalries in baseball are a huge part of the game and what make it exciting so was just wondering why this aspect is left out. I have never been intentionally hit once and teams always seem to lack that passion when there should be some. any guys seeing any fun rival moments? I play as the angels and have hit intentionally guys from the A's seeing if anything would happen and it never does!! makes me angry lol

Re: rivalry moments?

I have wondered this as well...at least after I hit someone why doesn't the cpu follow the unwritten rules and plunk my guy.

My opinion/guess is that the MLB doesn't want this aspect of the game translated into a video game, like bench clearing situations. I understand the line of thinking and then again I don't. I know you don't want the "ugliness" of the game being "marketed" but at the same time, it happens in real baseball and is "marketed" by sporting websites and sports shows.

Re: rivalry moments?

exactly i don't get it at all. The most drama I ever see is when I brush a guy off and he steps back..points his bat and stares me down..its a really cool cut scene with the benches getting angry also. It really amps me up to go after that team. I just wish rivalry moments carried away from series to series. Such as if i hit a guy then the next series they hit me or hard slide into my guy. I don't think 12 year old kids playing the game would go out and try this. Its not like they haven't seen bench clearing brawls in baseball.

But if thats the case, how come i can deliberately hit the cpu? I would think if the MLB didn't want intentional beanings, they wouldn't let the user move the cursor to basically aim at a player.

agreed 100%

Again, if you don't want to show bench clearing brawls, I get that. But I would love to see some animosity in the game.

Re: rivalry moments?

Exactly I just want to see the real passion of playing a rival and the excitement. I still love playing each game but I don't feel that spark for playing a rival like I should and adding the element of surprise of getting beaned or taken out by a slide here and there would be awesome. Not every game or series since that doesn't really happen but ever now and then would make this game perfect.
