Are you the Raiders? No? Oh, wrong sport. What I feel about this issue is free agency works on a multitude of levels. Need. Team. Money. If the CPU offers what the player is looking for it probably maxes out that category. So even if you offer 5 million more, you and the other team are rolling with the same max attribute in the money column. So it probably comes down to fit and team.

You don't think that's a rather ignorant assumption?

Most people I talked to when the Cano signing went down thought it would have been silly to offer him the huge long contract that he wanted...

You're entitled to your own opinion just thought that was rather rude, that's all


Before this thread turns into a flamefest and gets locked, back to the OP, more factors than just contract money play a role in a guy signing for teams which makes it a bit more realistic although just like in real life some players are all about the big $$
