Is this still the consensus on franchise mode for anyone that wants to have a realistic franchise? Are most of you guys still creating a dummy profile and assigning it to the 29 other teams that you do not use and monitoring the trades/moves of other teams?

Seems like the way to go, again. I've heard of some strange things from guys who aren't using 30 team control. Your typical trade head-scratchers, but also RPs being put in the rotation after a SP is traded

I noticed while playing around with franchise mode last night that when starting a franchise I could not, for the life of me, figure out how to turn GM contracts off when I had selected all 30 teams. Is there a way to do this?

GM contracts are automatically disabled when doing 30-team control. Even if it looks like it's locked and on, it's really not. Read the blurb that goes with GM contracts in game.

Hmm, I've never even heard of that and I've been playing The Show with 3 team control for years. What's the point of the dummy profile if you want to control all the teams yourself?

I won't be using 30 team control because you're too limited to the other aspects of the game, like GM Contracts which I plan on using when OSFM releases.

The entire "unrealistic trade" debacle is just that, a debacle. I guess I'm different because:

- I don't look at it as "OMG that team would have NEVER made that trade, totally unrealistic".

- I look at it as:

1. Is this team making a playoff push, normal mode, or rebuild mode?
2. What are the ages of the players?
3. What do both teams need?
4. What are the overalls and potentials of players?
5. What are the contracts of the players being traded?


The trading system in this game is actually quite brilliant.
