you wont be able to stop it all game......but if you go get some games in at the park, it will prepare you for this ****. you can almost predict where guys are going and just move with them. try not to spam turbo though because if you guess wrong and ur 8 steps away, its a bucket for them

Change your defensive setting to smother/deny/force middle.
Change your setting to auto contest and alternate between on/off ball.
Send manual dbl team sometimes. Use your PF to dbl.

Re: Tips vs zig zag cheese?

Sooo. I'm having this dilemma. Like I see obvious zig zag cheese online, but at the same time, the goal as a ball handler is to get your defender leaning one way and exploit the other. So that's where the gray area is for me, like in 1 on 1 at the top of the key sometime I'll do an escape dribble right, cross over hard left, and then use the hop gather back to the right to create space with Steph. Technically I got him going back and forth and forcing him to over commit one way, which is what the zig zaggers do but it doesn't feel cheesy to me. But it might be considered cheese. Idk lol. I mean I get the outrage against the ppl who shoot 85% of their shots from zagging back ans forth from 3. But usually, when I get beat by a zig zag, I over committed to the direction opposite where they shot the ball

This. I've played a lot of MyPark and I've learned how to shut down these dudes to the point where I am able to anticipate and start moving back the other direction before they even do. It's kind of hilarious watching them struggle and having no idea what to do against someone who can play defense.

Stay in front of them, don't jump, and don't make too drastic of movements (like messiah said, don't use RT unless needed). Let them dribble back and forth, just worry about staying in front of them. And try to be anticipating a bit, not all reactionary.

What you are all suggesting could work if the opponent PLAYS offense. There are people with 55 3 point shots per game and 75 FG in total with under 5 seconds offense. Since a lot of opponents do not run offenses it is impossible to defend. I have a print screen to show however for some reason I can not upload

See, my only issue with it is that I want to steal the ball. It's so garbage. I know exactly what they're doing, anticipate every zig, I just want to tap that ball away if I'm in the right position. To me, that's the only problem I have with the zig-zagging at this point.

And as a sidebar, it absolutely AMAZES me how many people use this technique. Like, seriously, is it even fun playing like that? Is winning an RTTP game that serious to you that not only do you have the HOF team, but you need to manipulate the game in such a way to win? Jeez man.

Re: Tips vs zig zag cheese?

ok, let's face it.No matter how good you play defense, your opponent is very likely to have 35%-40% 3s with zig-zagging. If he shoots 55 in a game and scores 60 pts with 3s and some with offensive rebounds (he will get at least 10 shooting 70 shots) he will most likely win. Most of half of my games are like this now,
