What is the biggest drawback of not playing with OSFM Rosters?

I mean I understand we get the minors but people are putting up rosters in the Vault that have the prospects in them already. I'm just curious what the difference is?

For example: I just downloaded a roster from the vault that had Yoan Moncada in there for the Red Sox. Also, Kris Bryant was on the Cubs, etc.

Sorry if this is an ignorant question but I just don't know why people are waiting for OSFM. (yes I understand alot of work is put into them but what's the difference?)

Please don't destroy me.

Many of those rosters you mentioned are not complete. Bryant won't look like Bryant or have a wrong stance or overpowered ratings. OSFM nails every prospects ratings, stance, equipment and face.

That my friend is the difference.

OSFM goes into FULL detail ranging from face, body type, gear, batting stance, follow through, and of course ratings.

Sure you might have one guy out there who makes a roster with the top 20 prospects. OSFM however has every relevant prospect and more. For example when I first tried OSFM, as a Yankees fan I was shocked to see that they even included guys in the farm system that are in single A who most likely will never reach the majors.

It's that kind of detail that adds to realism.

What is the difference between the regular OSFM roster and Hybrid? I read through posts on the Roster board and didn't see much explanation?

OSFM doesn't touch SCEA created players like Trout, McCutchen, etc. only does minors players. Hybrid changes ratings for every player using formulas and projections such as ZiPS.

How soon after the game comes out are the rosters posted? I don't want to play too much in my franchise until I have this. It really is the best.
