Continue year to year save off usb?

i have my ps4 mlb the show saves on a usb stick. i just upgraded my hard drive and dont have the show 14 for ps4 anymore. it will not let me download the saves on to the ps4 because 14 is not installed. when playing the game while it was installing the commentator said you could continue the save off of usb. when i go to road to show it doesn't find the save. am i screwed or is there something im missing?

really hope a dev can answer this for me. I really dont want to start over again. any help is really appreciated!

I don't believe games can communicate with USB sticks right now. Copy to USB seems to be for backup only, not for active, everyday usage.

A lot of people mistakenly assumed you would be able to load off of USB or download their MLB 14 saves from the cloud, and sold MLB 15 in anticipation. It was the wrong move to make.

the thing is during the 5th or 6th inning of the installation game when matt v was discussing year to year saves he specifically said off of usb thats what is confusing me
