Practice hitting it lightly. If you start diving you can fumble.

The key is to make sure you aren't sprinting. Let go of the R2 (the trigger button) then tap square and you should slide everytime.

For anyone who may need it and can't do the translation, its let go of RT and tap X on the Xbox.

Hey guy,
You have to hit square several times and very quickly (for my part i hit square 3 times very fast and your QB should slide....).
Another thing wich have no rapport with what you ask but can always help you if you like it and it's something i don't see very often related by the "Madden's community" :
you can fake the pass by using L1 but you can also do that by using L2 and at the same time put R3 straight forward and you will have the fake pass animation a little bit quickly by the QB....
