BaGM with Euro Leagues

I'm not exactly a big NHL gamer (actually playing the 2011 version still because its the most recent one I own) so sorry if this is an obvious question, but is there any way to do multiple seasons in the european leagues? I see you can substitute teams into the NHL, so is that the best you can do in this regard? If so, I have no problem combining finland and sweden to fill up all 30 slots, but will all the teams eventually fill up with americans/canadiens?

Yeah. The minor leagues and free agents stay the same. I once did a gm mode with European teams. I was Eisbaren Berlin but had the Chicago wolves as my minor league team.
