Seriously, with the poke checking

Why is it so OP? This is beyond absolutely ridiculous. Poke Checking SHOULD NOT be the first line of defense. Does EA EVER plan on nerfing this garbage style of defensive play? If not, please help me get better and attacking in the offensive zone when it's nothing but poke check spam. I try "protecting the puck" but it does nothing. I try making great passes, but that fails miserably because at any given time there are 5 sticks on the ice making it near impossible to do any sort of setting up in the offensive zone.

just cause you don't know how to defend it doesn't mean it needs a nerf

All you have to do is hold the right joystick out away from the direction that you're getting stick checked and it will draw a penalty more times than not.

After a few trips to the penalty box, most people will start being more conservative with their stick checks.

when you play online anything goes, thats why its not fun even if you win, it's just fun in its own way. offline you can always activate sliders to tailor the game for realistic action.

I have the same issue in my real life hockey league. Every time I skate a within sticks-length away from someone, they use their stick to knock my puck away. What's that all about? Don't they know I'm trying to score goals?
