What do you guys do to regularly standing dunk with bigs?

I've tried holding turbo, pressing the right stick up, and all sorts of other things in game but can't reliably standing dunk with players that should be. The majority of the time I get layups. This is with players like Chris Anderson, Dwight Howard, Anthony Davis, hell even Shaq when I play with the legacy rosters.

Forgive me if this is a broken record thread. I did a quick preliminary glance at the topics but I didn't do a thorough search.

What's more important is ensuring you're in correct position to score deep in the paint.

Other than ensuring you're holding RT or R2, putting yourself into an uncontested shot near the rim will make the ball go in more, and if that needs to be a dunk it will be.

You can't force dunks to counter defense.

Ya but it would be nice to see the occasional big man clear the defense out with a dunk; ala D12.

True, but from a completely standing position patch 3 completely nerfed that into the ground. Do most bigs even get posterizer?

But what would help is a one step dribble, makes the dunking animations more frequent.

1. Yes, you can do a standing dunk... the insinuation that they don't happen often does not allow you to say that they don't.

2. Doesn't everybody want to score more? Simply recommending utilizing a greater post-iq in order to get OP's desired outcome isn't condescending in the slightest.

RT/R2 + shoot/Stick WITHOUT touching the Left stick. Make sure you're close enough to the hoop facing the correct direction.

...Anyways, 9/10 you're not going to do a standing dunk if anyone is in front of you, but if you're close enough hold R2/RTand hold square/X. If you have a clear path it should work. I do agree that it should happen more frequently though.
