Does POE's and Defensive Settings go hand in Hand

For instance do they go together? Say if I limit perimeter shooters in POE's. Should I go in defensive settings and deny all shooters as well to match up with My Poe. I just want to make sure Thanks.

I wish I knew how POE work. I would love if 2k where to come on hear and explain all the different POE and how they work. I don't care how long it is or how comucatied it is I would love to hear because no matter if I have POE to limit jump shoots or protect paint or limt transion ect I see no difference at all with how my guys play. Same thing on offfise no matter if I have pick and role, play though player, get shooters open I see no difference at all with how my guys play. I can have a game where the CPU gets 4 PIP in the first quarter and then gets 20 in the second quarter so I change Protect paint and play physical d and the CPU will still kill me in the paint and get like another 20 PIP in the 3erd almost like I made no change at all. When it comes to defensive settings I almost fell like I play better d and have better luck when I just live throws at auto instead of changing them.

If you set it to Limit Perimeter Shots, that should be enough limit most 3PT threats...however, the really dangerous shooters like Korver, Melo, etc may still need to be manually set to Deny. Remember that this means less HELP defense...

From my experience, the Protect Paint/Neutral/Limit Perimeter basically bumps your off ball settings. It is sort of a global setting for how far your defenders sag off their man.

The Conservative/Neutral/Physical POE has to do with on-ball defense. Physical being tighter on-ball, conservative being loose.

You can get it out by playing the CPU and switching the POE while in the middle of a defensive possession.

That is kind of what I thought those settings would do it just no matter if I have limt perimeter or paint or what I don't see my players giving them more of a cusion or playing tieter or any thing like you would think they would. What do you mean by get it out by playing the CPU and switching thing?

I don't understand them and every time I Twitter one of the game designers for info they ignore me lol, I wish they would explain these new features when they come out too, like if I set my focus too protect paint does that override my individual settings that I may have set to guard specific players or does that go along with them? If I play tight/smother on ball d on Lebron does his settings change to sag of when I hit protect paint? Do I have to leave everything on neutral to actually get my individual settings very confusing and at least madden tries to explain what the new features mean in there game 2k folks just introduce a game and say "there ya go little fella now go figure it out" smh

Still trying to learn this too bro, I think understanding this is the key to unlocking my game, like I play with too guys off line one is tied with me head to head in wins the other is up on me 9 games the funny thing about that is all they know how to do on either side of the ball is turbo, dunk, shoot and turbo, steal, block on d...neither know about intense d, fast foot shuffle, hop step d none of them know how to use the right stick on offense and how to do all the dribble moves and shots to create space but I still struggle with amateurs should be a big gap between people who practice the controls and people who don't even understand the controls like in madden

Defensive settings overwrite PoE settings.

As far as I know, when you make your emphasis "Limit Perimeter Shots", Your guys will apply "Tight" defense to shooters on "Auto" defensive setting. If you want a closer coverage, you can make it "Deny", that means they will stick to their match-ups like glue and won't bother with help D.
