SCEA Art Direction (notes to improve in-game visuals)

SCEA, you guys are really improving the visuals when it comes to representing the in game "camera lens", however you really missed a critical consideration:

There would be MORE background blur behind a subject in a close up than any other time.

The best example is the close up of the pitcher. That's typically the most extreme close up the game goes to...that and the hitter on 1B after a base hit.

Shallow depth of field ie: blur behind the subject in focus. MORE blur behind close ups.

Thanks again.

Options are fine but I hate the blur in any sports games as its distracting, realistic or not

I don't know if this is along the same line of thinking, but I too like a blur effect, especially the way it was done in one of the Nascar games from a few years ago.

Attached photo for reference. SCEA has definately moved in this direction, but their close-ups are not accurate.

That would be very cool seeing bird flying by or a Cat or squirrel running on to the field once in a while during the game. Would also like to hear very loud planes passing over head in the stadiums that have that in real life

All these little things would only make MLB The Show look and sound even more like real life baseball.

Re: SCEA Art Direction (notes to improve in-game visuals)

Unlike the human eye, a camera can only focus at a specific distance so if you are going for broadcasting realism, blur...watching in person, no blur. Kind of an interesting point to make but I could go either way. It takes the fun out of looking for Ramone in the stands if it is blurred out but you don't get that close-up if you aren't on the field so I could take it or leave it, I suppose.

As for squirrels and birds--that is an awesome idea. It just cannot be too, too often like the planes in San Diego in 2013 (thankfully they put them behind the building in '14).

Maybe if Randy Johnson is put in as a Legend for Arizona or the Mariners,
that'll give SDS an incentive to put in a passing dove.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbmED5bXsLg
