Does Kobe suck now?

Man its hard to say this but man Kobe sucks now. Only shooting like 38% coming into tonight and he was just 1-14 today. I said before the season started that you had to weight in till around December to say how good Kobe is has after only playing 6 games last year I thought he would be rustly. I had some hope has I felt like before he got hurt last year that in the last few games he started to look better but to only be shooting like 36% on the season I didn't think he would start off that bad so yeah I think kobe sucks now.

He was never that efficient anyway. Only difference this time is he's on a terrible team.

That aside does he suck? No. Is he playing badly? Yes. His shot selection is awful but it always has been so complaining about that is like beating a dead horse. I'm not trying to justify last nights performance but apparently he had some illness so take that for what its worth. Kobe needs to realize that He's not young anymore nor can he get the lift he used to on his jumpers due to his Achilles.

He still does have some things working for him. His foot work is still impeccable and his court vision is as good as its ever been. His Basketball IQ is off the charts as well.

Kobe's failings have more to do with his physical limitations now. In the proper system with managed minutes, Kobe could still be very productive. However we won't be seeing that as long as he remains on the Lakers. He needs to realize that he cannot put the team on his back. He needs help. But this is Kobe we're talking about so he'll probably never come to that realization and continue to try and do everything by himself.

Lakers have lived and died with Kobe. They've done well with him for so long and he's practically given his life to the team. I'm upset that his career has become nothing more than a sideshow but I can't exactly complain when the man has given his team so much through the years.

I think we can go ahead and close the thread now.

Re: Dose Kobe suck now?

I don't know why some in the media keep speculating on whether the Lakers would trade Kobe. I seriously doubt they would be able to find a trading partner anyway. I don't see how anyone would want to trade for Kobe. No one wants that contract on their books for the next two seasons.

No not really for his carrier he is about 45% on FG and right now this year he is like 36% that is a 9% difference that is a big difference and his rebounds and asset are down to. Any player only shooting 36% is not good.

I agree about the shoot selection that has alrease been something that has hurt him. Has good has kobe has been if he didn't foce so many shoots he would go down has even a better player. I hope the lakers can get algred this offseason and get a good player in the draft and that julis can came back and have a good year. If the lakers could have all those things happened the lakers could be much improved next season but that is a lot of ifs and buts.

I cant complain either just sucks that if Kobe does retire after next season when his contract is up that his last 4 years in the league could be first round playoff lose and 3 years missing the playoffs. Do you think the Lakers can make the playoffs next year? Do you think next year will be Kobe's last year? Or will Kobe came back for another year or 2 after that for less money? Do you think Kobe will adjust this season to physical limitations? Or will he continue to suck and shoot a very very low %?
