Connected Career Player- Do you ever become a free agent

When you create a player on Connected Career- Do you ever become a free agent or do you have to stay on the same team your entire career?

Another broken game mode in Madden. What a surprise...

after your first contract expires they'll probably franchise tag you. The problem is, that should only happen ONCE in your career and it can happen two years in a row.

But during the final yeae of your contract, in like week 10 or so, they'll offer you an extension. You can choose to accept or reject it. When its rejected you have to hope they don't franchise you a second time, it's hit or miss honestly.

In the NFL you can be tagged a number of times, it just becomes financially unreasonable to do so after the second.

There's some debate whether the CBA allows a player to receive the franchise tag at all once he's been tagged three previous times. Apparently it's a bit of a grey area in the language and established court precedent.

But yeah, you're right that ultimately the salary numbers produced by the tag become completely unreasonable and the team must either sign a long-term deal with the player or move on.

a player can be tagged 2 years in a row by the same team, but that is it.
a player cant be tagged more than 3 times total... for example
player x is tagged by arizona... year after he signs as an free agent in cleveland.
at the end of that contract he could be franchise tagged 2 years in a row again, but never again by any other team in his career

You cannot decline the franchise tag?
