Perfect Release Factors

Does getting a perfect release factor in the quality of the shot? Do you have the same percentage of getting a perfect release whether you are wide open in a hot zone as you would if you are closely guarded and in a cold zone? I seem to get more perfect releases when I take an open shot, but I didn't know if it was just coincidental.

Re: Perfect Release Factors

When someone is right in front of me it seems like it always ends up as a poor release, no matter when I release it

Re: Perfect Release Factors

The more open your shot is the wider the shot meter is. The more contested or the farther you get from the basket you will see the meter shrinking.

Holy crap really? I never really look at the meter so I've never noticed. Only time I look at it is retrospectively to see if it was early/late. I just tend to feel it out and shoot based on the release point/animation.

Re: Perfect Release Factors

For some players the shot meter is broken and impossible to get excellent releases. Good job 2k

Re: Perfect Release Factors

Look at the blue meter when you dribbling the basketball, it shows your range

Re: Perfect Release Factors

I know the blue meter- which is the range will increase and decrease, but what about the actual perfect release mark (the white tick) in the blue meter. Does that get bigger and smaller as well? I'm referring to a perfect release where the meter lights up green. Not just a good release.

i fit into this category lol especially online, ive literally tried every way to release and its either slightly early or slighty late. The shots dont even go in if i miss it a little bit basically i have to get perfect or its just not going in (i have 91 shooting stats)
