FIFA 15 Pro Club-Playing As "Any"

Does anyone know if your Pro Club player still gets stats and can get better if you play as the "Any" position in Pro Clubs? The computer AI is so terrible and I'm sick of seeing my computer teammates do stupid things, but still want my player to get better.

They do if they have a good match, I generally think the any should control a top third player (unless the player is a defender or goalie) at all times. Easier for you to utilize him.

I used to play ANY for my clubs the last few FIFAs because of CPU ineptitude -- this year CPU is pretty good at maintaining possession until a pro can take the ball back.

This year I'm finding that ANY is really difficult. Anyone else want to share their experiences with ANY and give some advice -- would be appreciated!
