RTTS question regarding free agency

Just wanted to check on this. I got into the MLB at age 19 I believe (second season). I ended up getting traded, per my request, during my 3rd or 4th season. I am still only receiving offers from my current team after year 4 and 5. Is that because I need a certain number of years of service to be eligible for free agency? I think it may be 6? So after my 6th season I should receive offers from multiple teams? And that 6 years (if it is indeed 6) includes time in the minors correct?

Thanks

You have to play 6 years in MLB.
