No. You can play the match out or you can sim the match. If you try to go cpu vs cpu it disallows that. It would be nice to be able to have this option to just watch a match with the CPU controlling both sides. Seems an obvious thing for a manager only style of running a career mode.

Re: CPU vs CPU in 15

While I understand that those of us who enjoy using CPU vs CPU gameplay in Franchise type play are in the minority, I don't understand why EA won't just enable this mode in Madden, and now FIFA. I've said it before, give me the mode and I'll mess with sliders to balance it out to my liking. The capability is already there in exhibition mode, so flip the switch in Franchise. I spent hours with the demo watching CPU vs CPU matches and had a blast. It's not for everybody, but some of us enjoy it.

My most played sports game over the last two years is NCAA '14, where I can recruit my players, set my depth chart, set my playbook, and watch it play out on the field without my declining stick skills and hand eye coordination throwing 5 picks, or my arthritic knuckles making me put the controller down and turn the console off.

The Show CPU vs CPU with quick pitch counts in Franchise mode is my other guilty sports pleasure. Watching the team I'm building perform (or not) while I relax after work with a beer is enjoyable. I can do that at 6PM instead of waiting until 7:05 for first pitch and way too many commercials in between every half inning on TV.

It's an enjoyable way to continue to participate in sports gaming that seems to be taken away more often than not lately. It's an offline franchise/dynasty/career...who is it affecting to flip the switch to enable it other than opening it up to those of us who enjoy this type of play? It's already "in the game", just please let me use it.

Perhaps it's EA's way of telling me I'm getting too old for their sports games. If nothing else, I guess the bright side is, they're freeing up money that I want to give to them, for me to spend with other companies.

You CPU vs. CPU guys should check out Football Manager, if you haven't already.

It makes no sense to me that this is always left out. It is clearly a way that many people like to play. There is a 54 page thread about this subject in the Madden forum. Very disappointing.

I agree this is disappointing. There are definitely times when I don't want to control the players on the field but I still want to watch the game.
