Question about solo stuff

I'm doing the regular season, and finished the "bears" track, and now have the elite matchup. Are these things like designed for you not to win unless you have a higher rated team? Like it's not playing football, you aren't supposed to win until you hit a certain level? I ask because I have a 78 rated team, and it doesn't feel like in playing football in these games. After 5 tries I haven't come close to winning, and the predominant thing is the bears not having drives, they either go 3 and out or score in a large play, and seemingly I throw odd interceptions where defenders come out if nowhere and jump the route, etc

I'm thinking in not supposed to be playing the game yet as I don't think it'll let me win

I beat the Elite Steelers solo challenge on my first try with a slightly worse team than yours. However, I tried to beat the 49ers 4 or 5 times and I couldn't. My RB fumbled at the goal line when I was down by 4 because I pressed the dive button and he just dove into the lineman's butt instead of over the pile on one of the trys though. Basically, you just have to manage the clock and try to run out the entire half and score at the end. I prefer to kickoff to start the game and try to get a stop, because even if they score there is always time left for you to make a drive.

I've been up as high as 14-3 with under 3 minutes to go, and they just go beast mode on me, either causing a fumble or just sacking me and calling timeouts. I don't get it man. I even got a penalty called on me lol to put them in field goal position after like 10 games

I find myself not playing football, I'm just trying to take advantage of the ai and exploit it, essentially cheesing. No point in punting on 4th and short, spoiler alert, they are most likely going to score if you punt it and are winning. This gameplay is ridiculous, but whatever, it is what it is. It's just MUT but anyone who thinks this is a sim football game needs their head examined lol.
