Some noob questions about controls (PS4)

Couple questions for PS4 version.

How do I add someone to my friends list that I just played in HUT?

Also, how do you win faceoffs? Do you hold down L3 in the direction you want to pass the puck and spam pull back R3?

Also, for someone who has never played an NHL game. Any advice on how to shoot? I get a ton of shots off but miss all of them.

And how do I poke check the puck away?

I'm pretty new to nhl also, don't play hut and never will. Faceoffs right before the ref drops the puck flick the the right joystick whatever direction to your player. So if you are going up flick right joystick down. In broadcast mode if you are facing right flick left and so on. For shooting i use the skill stick and the right joystick to shoot. flick towards goal for wrist shot, pull back and up for slap shot. Hope that helps.

So if I am playing hut, and I am always facing upwards, what should I be doing?
Aiming the left joy stick at the player I want to pass the faceoff to, and doing what with the right joy stick?

I am noob too, but it seems like you hold the right stick left or right while waiting for the ref to drop the puck and as soon as he does pull it back. Pushing it up and then back right before he drops it works sometimes too.

It might be a few years old, but should be same mechanics.


Two tips:
Do not spam anything.
Mix it up, don't do the same type of face off every time.

Instructions:
1) Chose your grip with RS (left or right = forehand/backhand)
2) When ref drops the puck, pull up or down on the RS ( = stick lift, or straight back win)

or

1) Chose your grip with RS (left or right)
2) When ref drops the puck, pull up on the LS ( = lock body)


Certain types of face offs wins easier than another, i.e. it might be easier to win a stick lift against an opponent with forehand grip and so on... and don't forget that the the players attributes is a big deal, so you might loose even if you execute perfectly, because the opponent is better than you.

you poke check with R1 - but it isnt that efficient anymore, so dont spam it, it just gets you out of position - rather block the shooting or passing lane.

To add the player as a friend go into stats central, your recent games, scroll down to the opponent and then hit X and select view profile and then send the friend request
