It's hard to trust any reviews that will be coming out, it's well known EA would just buy good reviews and squash anything overly negative. The fact there was a publication ban on reviews until AFTER the game hit shelves is proof enough EA knew they were in trouble.

I generally stick to metacritic, which while having no average yet for NHL15 from Media is currently holding a deserved 3.3 from User scores.

For example IGN still gives the game a 7/10, it does list "Missing modes" as a con but with how much is actually missing it SHOULD be a larger talking point and effect the rating more but it for some reason has not. Don't tell me an EA cheque didn't have something to do with that...

The game itself is probably worth a 7. Sure there are modes missing, but they are patching some of them in, the game is really fun, and realistically for Be A GM if you are not playing it because of the draft, you could just trade the dps for previous selected players until they fix it.

Regardless I had hesitations about it, but it has been really fun to play this game because of the game play.

Reviews should never be based upon "patches that are coming".

If the patches come (big if), then the review can be updated.

Metacritic has finally updated, looking like an average of 61/100 from the Gaming "Media" and a 3.2/10 from Users.

They aren't getting a dime from me. I absolutely refuse to pay $60 for a game with less features than there should be and less than in last year's game.

I'll stick with other games.

Reviews should be about what is actually there not what is missing or may be patched in. The gameplay and presentation are very good in the game, the modes are playable but missing lots of features. 6/7 is right about what this game should get.
