What is wrong with the commentary?

(besides it being flat and dull, with an awful half-time report)

There are many times where the commentators will say things that are 100% wrong. Today I was winning in a game and playing defense with under a minute left. Phil Simms is literally saying the other teams is up by 7 when it is me who is up. I find this happens a lot. Is this something fixable or just the way the game is?

Yeah, commentary is way off this year. Maybe they'll fix it in a future update.

Re: What is wrong with the commentary?

Commentary is REALLY bad this year. I threw a 40 yard pass (with a 10 yard run in) for a TD and Phil Simms raved about how he followed his blocks for a long TD run.

Sigh.

It's just not good. Nantz is always talking about "this game is a nail biter" and it's like 3 minutes into the 2nd quarter and we're scoreless.

I'm a few more games from muting the commentary all together.

Re: What is wrong with the commentary?

I really really hate both of the commentators. Jim Nantz has this annoying lilt to his voice like he's singing everything. It also really bothers me that they act like the kick return is part of the drive, it's always first and ten from the 20 and they start out by saying "After the long play it's 1stand 10." or "After the 20 yard play it's first down." I also wish there was some recognition of what quarter and play it is, they get one long run and Phill Simms goes on about how the defense needs to put rocks in their pocket at some point.

I will say that I do like how they comment on teams past games in CFM, even if it's all pretty standard it's a decent addition.

Re: What is wrong with the commentary?

They need multiple teams, networks have how many 2 man teams now? (Different sideline reporters would be nice also, and show them on the sidelines, not just voice overs) and they don't need to be actual real life announcers either, Get voice actors, get the 2 guys from the nfl2k series, anything would be better than what it is now. The ability to add commentary via updates during the season would go a loooong way toward taking the staleness out of it as well.

Field a punt and run it for 18 yards.
"The coach isn't going to be happy with him for miss handling that catch and turning the ball over. Let see what the defense does now."

In all seriousness, they need to have 1 team work out properly before they start having multiple teams
