Same Old Browns?

New ownership, new general manager, new coach but the question remains, are these the same old Browns? Has anything actually change? Browns legend Jim Brown caught up with former Stanford Cardinal head coach David Shaw to discuss his expectations in his first season with the Cleveland Browns.

Brown Coach, why should anyone expect the Browns to be any better this year?

Coach: They shouldn't. Until we get on the field and prove that we have taken the proper steps to improve as a team no one should expect anything.

Brown: Do you plan on starting Johnny Manziel week one?

Coach: Yes, Johnny is the future of our franchise. Brian Hoyer is a good quarterback but i see no point in waiting to start Manziel.

Brown: Can you give us some insight into hat the coaching staff will do to help Johnny Football develop? What will the offense look like?

Coach: We are going to put Johnny in the best position to win games. Nothing more nothing less. The offense will look like a work in progress until we can establish an identity.

Brown: The Ravens are consistently one of the best teams i the SFL. Are you worried about the difficult task of playing them twice a year?

Coach: Not at all. The only thing we're worried about is improving as a football team and winning games. If I start worrying about whats going on in Baltimore they've already won half the battle.

Brown: What does it mean to this team not to have Josh Gordon for the entire season?

Coach: It's tough, very tough. He's a huge part of our team and without him on the field it makes it very difficult to run our offense the way we want. To be honest it pisses me off that he was suspended for the whole season. I think things need to be reevaluated when you get two games boxing your fiance then dragging her unconscious body from and elevator, but Josh loses an entire year of his career for hitting a few blunts after work. #LetJoshSmoke gordon-4.jpg

Brown: So you're okay with Josh Gordon smoking marijuana?

Coach: Not if he's going to get suspended for it but I do not believe it should be against SFL policy. He isn't hurting anyone and he has a prescription in every possible state. #LetJoshSmoke

Brown: Wow that's a new one! I want to thank you for your time coach and wish you and the Browns the best of luck for years to come.

Coach: Thanks for having me Jim. I can't wait to get this season started.
