Bubba Trammell: The Padre Homer (RTTS)

To start: This road to the show is played on MLB The Show 13 PS3. I like the advancement goals, which I know doesn't make sense. The difficulty will progress from Veteran hitting in AA to All-Star in AAA and possibly HOF in MLB (depends on if I get extremely frustrated). This is a RTTS about a young man that desperately wants to play for his hometown and will do everything/ and anything he can to make it possible.

let it begin:

Bubba Trammell's Interview on ESPN Transcript:

anchor: Why are you such a beast of a player? You're setting college records at SDSU

BT: I'm just focused and dedicated to baseball. I try to improve every day.

anchor: Name 3 cities you would want to be drafted by and 3 cities that you would refuse to play for

BT: My first choice would be to obviously play for the Padres. I was born and raised in San Diego and I will always be a fan of the Pads. I know Petco Park is considered a pitcher's park, but I think it would be fun to try and build something with longevity in SD for the disgruntled fans. I would take a pay cut to play for the friars.

Anchor: What kind of paycut?

BT: well, I know you start out with a one year 30k deal. If they kept me long-term, we could come to an agreement on a livable wage contract that guarantees they bring in other talent. This organization is pathetic when it comes to keeping talent. Look at how they stole Gonzalez from the Rangers, yet they dealt him to Boston years later since they refused to reward their own. Then they got Rizzo in that deal and flipped him to the Cubs for Cashner. Rizzo is now a top hitter and the Pads have a crappy Alonso that they traded Latos for. The front office needs to spend money and stop the never ending rebuild. I'm telling them to draft me with the 13th pick and give the fans hope.

My second choice would be Seattle. It's again a big park and I'm a power hitter, but I'd love to play on a team with Cano, Seager, and Felix. I don't have a third team that I'd really be as enthusiastic to play for.

The Yankees are definitely a team I never want to play for since they have a no facial hair policy and I have zero plans to shave. It doesn't seem like a fun organization to show up to work in. Another team I'd hate to be a part of is Oakland. They have a disgusting stadium/ city and the fans are just as unappealing. Honestly, it's really just a revolting and ghetto city. I also really wouldn’t want any part of the other three teams in the NL West. I cheated a bit with the answer.

Anchor: what would you do if a team like Oakland or the Dodgers drafted you?

BT: I'll spam the hell out of the trade button and hope for the best.

Anchor: Tell me about your batting stance

BT: It's Tony Gwynn's stance. I've done that stance since t-ball. I'll do it in the minors and pro league too.

Anchor: I Know Tony is a role model and you elected to play for SDSU even after receiving better baseball programs. If Drafted by the Padres, what number will you wear?

BT: 27 or 24. I'll ask to wear 19 for a week in June to honor TG.

Anchor: good luck and thanks for stopping by

BT: luck is for cereals with charms. I dont [inaudible cuts to commercial]

Oakland A's Respond to Trammel's ESPN ''Ghetto'' Remarks

In this day of social media nothing goes unnoticed. That lesson goes out to the future MLB player, Bubba Trammell, who raised eye brows when he answered candidly and honestly a question on which cities he wouldn't want to be a part of. The 18 year old answered the question by taking a shot at the Yankees professionalism and then proceeded to call the city of Oakland “ghetto”. Today Oakland A's Twitter took exception to the blast and fired a tweet that is just as offensive:

Oakland Athlllletics*@Athllletics*·*5m
Welp, Bubba's now guaranteed to get shanked or mugged if he ever has a game here. #oaklandghetto

This probably is not the best way for a professional baseball club to handle criticism.

Bubba Trammell Drafted By Hometown Padres: “I'm shocked and honored. It's a dream come true.”

“I'm shocked and honored to play for the city I grew up in. It's a dream come true for a local kid from San Marcos who moved to Poway and played high school ball there. Then to get a call from folks in New York, Boston, Oklahoma, etc begging me to play college ball for them...I felt honored to turn them down and play ball at SDSU even if people thought it was a mistake. I won't lie and tell you that I wasn't nervous about which team called my name. It was out of my hands. Being drafted by the Padres and in the first round is definitely intoxicating. I don't mean to take a jab at the failures of the entire Matt Bush saga...or any of the past lackluster Padres drafts, but I promise you that I will make the city of San Diego proud. They finally got a draft right and a player that will do whatever it takes to build a dynasty. I will take less money to field a team that will compete. However, my focus will first be on dominating the minors to make the show. I can't look too far ahead, but I urge Padre fans to dream big. I know they are excited. This city needs a championship. I don't want that one little league world series championship to define this sports town's history. '' Bubba Trammell declared as he fought back tears in front of a packed Padres conference room filled with media. For those unfamiliar with Matt Bush, he is considered the biggest bust in the MLB history and was drafted by the Padres in 2004. He is now a convicted felon and recovering alcoholic.

Bubba played two seasons of college baseball under his idol Tony Gwynn at SDSU. He set SDSU and collegiate records by hitting a whopping 72 HRs and managed 248 RBIs with a .385 avg. Those kind of numbers rival 1985's Pete Incaviglia. Although receiving offers to play college ball all across America, Bubba held firm in his desire to stay local and play in the city he loves.

With Chase Headley on the bubble in San Diego, Bubba decided to switch from short stop to third base in college. “ He was always watching Padres games and trying to decide which position would be the best value for the organization.” Bubba's mother recounts. “He told me that he was going to be on the Padres no matter what and he was going to win multiple World Series for a starved city.”

Padres fans were certainly anxious for his name to be called and have embraced Bubba Trammell as almost a folklore. He was deemed on twitter as the savior that the Padres need. It is also said that he declared to his Poway high school team that he would one day be drafted by the Pads and will have at least 2-World Series rings by the time he is 30.

It only took Bubba Trammell a couple minutes to sign a 1-yr 30K deal after his name was called.

Can Bubba Trammell turn the frugal Padres into a powerhouse team? Only time will tell.

Rumor: Bubba Trammell e-mailed teams telling them not to draft him

There is a rumor circulating that Bubba Trammell sent 28/30 MLB teams a strongly worded e-mail stating that he would elect to stay in school another year or move to Mexico if they drafted him. On the flip side, he reportedly begged his SDSU manager,Mr. Padre, to influence the Padres front office into drafting him with the 13th overall pick. A plan that apparently worked for the young extraordinary 3B/SS. If these allegations are true, one has to wonder how commissioner Selig will handle it.

Update 12:30 AM: Although Bubba denied the report, fifteen teams have confirmed receiving an unpleasant e-mail from Bubba Trammell and his agent.

Update 10:30 AM: Bubba denies report that he contacted any team or spoke with Gwynn prior to draft. One curious ESPN anchor received a text that read, " no truth. kill this story."

Re: Bubba Trammell: The Padre Homer (RTTS)

Bubba Trammell Player of the Game in 1st AA Appearance

Bubba Trammell road to the show started with him taking three straight strikes looking. The umpire cocked his hands feverishly and motioned Bubba back to the dugout. The second ab would start out 0-1 before Trammell took hold of a 4 seam fastball that went a few miles past the Budweiser banner on the right field fence and rewarded 2 RBIs for the San Antonio Missions. Bubba would finish his debut with a solid 2-4 statline featuring 1 home run, 1 double in the 8th and 2 strikeouts. That was enough for him to be named the player of the game.

Bubba: “ I want to stay in the minors for a bit to perfect my craft”

Most players want to be drafted and start tomorrow in the Majors, but new Padre prospect, Bubba Trammell, is willing to put the work in at the minors for 2-3 years to perfect his craft.

Update:

Midland Outfielder released immediately following a now viral video in which he clearly doesn't give a blank about his team...

11 games into the season and Bubba Trammell has already been declared the number one prospect in AA and he can also be considered the reason why OF Ian Shebert is in the unemployment line.

"We released Shebert because you can't let a guy with 25 speed get to 3rd. I told him to keep his head up though. Get it?" Tulsa manager told reporters after the game

Re: Bubba Trammell: The Padre Homer (RTTS)

Yankees Desperately Wanted Trammell

Sources close to the organization are now chiming in with information that the Yankees wanted Bubba Trammell and scouted him heavily since high school. They were even willing to let him sport his beard, which was a considerable factor after listening to his ESPN interview. It's no surprise news like this is coming forward now that Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter are both pretty much finished with pro baseball and the Yankees really have nothing too significant brewing behind them. There is reports that the Yankees had formulated an extensive plan of action of acquiring the prospect in the draft and that eventually down the long run would have landed the young converted short stop a 10-yr 120 million dollar deal. That is surely money the Padres will never offer the young prospect any time in the future. However, I don't think Bubba Trammell is in it for the money. His letter to the Yankees and other major league clubs was adamant on being a long-term Padre. Padres fans can rejoice since the number one prospect is producing like one in his extremely early road to the show. He is currently batting .412 (3rd) 21 hits (2nd) .922 slg % (1st) .404 obp 1.325 ops (1st) .333 avg RISP with 7 Hrs (1st) 21 RBI (1st)

Re: Bubba Trammell: The Padre Homer (RTTS)

Bubba Trammell has ridiculous numbers

He has 350k more votes than the next 3B prospect and 19 more HRs (14 more than the 2nd best AA HR hitter). It doesnt really matter since he likely wont be around for the AA all-star game.

Trammell is a homerun machine

The moment you realize that your face is about to eat grass and you just allowed a slow *** 3rd baseman to hit a triple with a horrible diving effort.
