Is Alex Smith the solution at Quarterback?

After seven seasons in San Francisco, the former 1st overall pick will be now the leader of the offense here in Kansas City. The answer is simple: can he do it?

Smith struggled early in his career, throwing for 11 INT and only 1 TD touchdown in his first season, with a 40.8 completition percentage. He then had to fight against injuries, which costed him the starting job a couple of times, more recently during the 2012 season, when Colin Kaepernick took over. But he showed a lot of improvement during his last two seasons with the 49ers, leading them to the NFC Championship game and throwing for a combine total of 30 TD and 10 INT, and because of this the Chiefs decided to take a shot and offered him a contract.

The veteran quarterback will have a lot of weapons to work with, such as star runningback Jamaal Charles and former first round pick Dwayne Bowe, and will be protected by a really decent line led by left tackle Branden Albert and the 1st overall pick of the 2013 draft Eric Fisher.

Also, with the only other quarterbacks on the roster being Chase Daniel and Tyler Bray, it's not like the Chiefs have much of a chance anyways.
