End of Season Awards

Ok ladies and gents we're about halfway through the 2014 MLB season. So who do you think will win the major awards at the end of the year?

I'm just going to list my MVP, Cy Young and ROY winners but feel free to list others of you'd like. Give your top candidates or just one for each award, your choice. Remember, this thread is aimed for who you think will win at the END of the season, not who's the best RIGHT NOW. You can also give your reasons as to why you chose said player.

Also would like to point out that this is just a fun topic for debate and banter, so let's keep it clean!

AL MVP - Mike Trout
NL MVP - Troy Tulowitzki

AL Cy Young - Felix Hernandez
NL Cy Young - Adam Wainwright

AL ROY - Jose Abreu
NL ROY - Billy Hamilton

Re: End of Season Awards

AL MVP - Victor Martinez
NL MVP - Tulo

AL Cy Young - Masahiro Tanaka
NL Cy Young - Cueto

AL ROY - Tanaka
NL ROY - Is Khris Davis a rookie? If not then Billy Hamilton

Honorable mentions-
Yangervis Solarte (spelling?) for ROY, Jose Abreu for ROY, josh Donaldson and Trout for MVP, the King for Cy Young.

The NL is lacking in award candidates...

Re: End of Season Awards

Who I think will win it?

NL Cy Young-Kershaw (I see Wayno not getting run support and missing a few starts anyways)
NL MVP-Gomez (With Lucroy and McCutchen being close)
NL ROTY-Hamilton
NL Reliver of the year-Kimbrel

AL Cy Young- Tanaka
AL MVP- Trout
AL ROTY- Tanaka
AL Reliever of the year-Holland

Blue jays guy how you miss Tanaka? Not only is he the best rookie in the league right now, he is the best pitcher! Heck he is close to Trout in WAR...He could make a case for all 3 awards in the AL.

I didn't miss him. He's been outstanding to this point, but I think his numbers may slip a little bit as the league adjusts to him (I could be wrong). I don't give a ton of credence to WAR since a lot of times it doesn't make much sense (Josh Donaldson and many others this year and in the past).

I have Tanaka second in both Cy Young and ROY and 3rd in MVP. I also think Abreu is doing just as unbelievably as a rookie with little lineup support.

It's REALLY close to call between Tanaka and Felix for the Cy and Tanaka and Abreu for the ROY and I could be swayed either way for both for sure.

Question for you. How do you see Gomez winning it over Tulo who (with respect to Stanton and Lucroy) has undoubtedly been the best player in the NL up to this point? Ballpark factor? His road splits haven't been too shabby either (definitely not near MVP level but more than solid). Do you see his numbers coming down to earth a bit?

Don't get me wrong, Gomez has been dynamite, but I don't see him ahead of those guys mentioned above (yet), though he's not far off.

Re: End of Season Awards

AL MVP: Mike Trout
NL MVP: Giancarlo Stanton

AL CY YOUNG: Masahiro Tanaka
NL CY YOUNG: Clayton Kershaw

AL ROY: Jose Abreu
NL ROY: Billy Hamilton

Close calls: Tulo for NL MVP, Nelly Cruz for AL MVP, Kazmir for AL CY YOUNG, Cueto for NL CY YOUNG, Tanaka for AL ROY, B-Ham will run away with NL ROY unless he gets hurt AND either Gregory Polanco goes on a tear, or Mike Olt hits .600 over his last 80ish games to raise his average over the Mendoza Line (.200).......
Haha yeah right

Re: End of Season Awards

I don't see them giving an mvp to a player on a bad team. It isn't my opinion of what I think should happen but its what I think will happen. Gomez is doing what mccutchen did lasy year but the brewers are winning this year...

Re: End of Season Awards

I've also changed my MVP to Lucroy for NL

Tulo should probably win it, but I know they won't give it to him playing on the Rockies (which is dumb).
