Warning to All Users Regarding Settings

As most know when you let The Show remain IDLE a CPU vs. CPU game will start up. When this happens do NOT select to join the game in progress. If you select to join the game in progress all of your profile settings will be lost including your custom dynamic difficulty levels which will be reset to the defaults. I just wanted to make others aware of this so they will not have to lose all of there settings as I did.

Ouch, that's a pretty big pain in the butt bug. Hope this gets patched quickly.

Have you tried loading your settings back from online storage? Wondering if that would fix it.

How would I go about doing that as I am not familiar with how the online storage works? I did not ever set something like that up unless it auto-saved to the online storage.

I have done this plenty of times and never lost my settings. Double check that your profile is at default. If your profile really is mot there, then something else may have happened like a bad HDD sector.

I only have one profile and it was not deleted just all of my settings within it were reset. I do not think it has anything to do with a bad HDD sector but I guess I could be wrong.

Has it happened to you multiple times?

Actually yes I think it has. On day 1 all of my settings were mysteriously lost right after terminating an idle game. At that time I chalked it up to be being a show noob and not saving something properly as I made the switch recently from xbox to the PS4 specifically for the show.

Now that I know what I think causes this I will perform a test case and see if I can duplicate my results and report back.

Re: Warning to All Users Regarding Settings

I have repeated the following test case to verify this problem and I will now document the steps I went through to produce the issue.

Pre-condition: An existing profile with custom settings are set (such as dynamic difficulty, meter pitching, etc.)

1. Let the game remain idle such that a cpu vs cpu game starts.

2. During the introduction press the touchpad to join the game.

At this point the game prompts me to throw my warmup pitches with the pulse pitching interface despite the fact that I have turned the warmup pitches off for my profile and I have also selected the meter pitching interface.

3. Press options -> select Exit game

At this point I am returned to the main menu where I proceed to check my profile. My profile has been once again reset to all of the generic experienced defaults, overriding all of my customization. Also when I re-select dynamic difficulty both pitching and hitting has been reset to Rookie+.

I encourage other users to attempt to duplicate this on there systems. It may just be my issue and if so I will try re-installing the game (although I am not sure if this is possible). If you do try this though please please use a dummy profile to not risking deleting custom settings.
