Tips on 32-Team Owner Franchise?

After watching the Draft tonight, I got the urge to pop my Madden NFL 25 game into my PS3 and play a bit of it again. I created a new franchise, taking control as an owner. However, I quickly became disinterested in it once teams started releasing their big name stars and relocating to places that didn't make sense (like the Rams moving to London). So I decided to start a franchise controlling all 32 teams (as an owner for every team) and only observe the other 31 teams to make sure everything went well with them (such as making sure none of their big name stars were released, only relocating to places that makes sense, and stuff like that). However, I couldn't figure how to make it so the CPU controls the majority of the team's operations and I just "watch" over them. Is that an actual option or do I really have to control what all of of the teams do?

So...yeah, anyone have any tips on how to run a 32-team franchise without it becoming overwhelming?

What I do is first I go through every team that has a new head coach and I create them, then when I am done with that team I go to settings and toggle Auto-something (its been months since I played madden) and that makes the CPU control that team. Also before I select the team the settings show up and you can make it so that teams don't relocate without you saying so. Hope this helps somewhat.

Without it being overwhelming/cumbersome/time-consuming? NO.

You can go to League--> Settings--> League Settings (for each team) and set the CPU settings for Fill Roster, Re-Sign Players, Progress Players, Sign Offseason Free Agents to ON, making them computer controlled, but that basically negates the 32 team control and you will continue to see poor roster management, etc.

To keep the computer teams from making poor decisions, you have to go to each team and perform the coach/owner tasks that are most important to you (resigning, progressing, offseason, drafting?) in the frequency that you can live with (weekly, monthly, etc).

I usually set up a 32 team Owner franchise so I can relocate a couple teams, build new stadiums for others, and resign certain free agents at the end of the 1st year for each team. Upon completion of year one, I "retire" all owners except 1, make my head coach and take over another team, and disable the relocation setting so teams can't up and move all over the place.

Sorry for the book.

Ah, that sucks. I figured there was an option that allowed you to control all 32 teams and just have the final decisions so it doesn't get overwhelming.

What about auto-subs? Do I havet to input auto-subs for every team or no?

Re: Tips on 32-Team Owner Franchise?

There's differing opinions regarding auto-subs and whether or not the feature works properly. My personally experience is that it doesn't work properly and requires in game management of player rotation/playing time. With that in mind, I set auto-subs in the main menu (along with game sliders) and then leave auto-subs at default once in a CC and adjust depth chart, etc in game.

Lots of great info regarding auto-subs and sliders/penalty settings in various threads. I think in the Sliders Sub-Forum.
