Help with stat degradation in RTTS at high level.

I cannot seem to keep up with maintaining the stats on my 97 overall CF and I am actively losing stats at this point.

The background here is I had The Show 14 for PS3 and started the CF, then when I pre-ordered The Show 14 PS4 from Gamestop I got 30,000 stubs pre-order bonus.

I proceeded to spend 26,000 stubs on my imported CF from The Show Ps3 and he is now a 97 overall.

Everything was going great for the first half of my third season in the majors, I am batting .280 with 11 HR and 20 SB at the All-Star break.

But then....!

Everything came crashing down when all the stats called for maintenance. I had tried to spread the points around because I knew they worked on a timer, but once my main hitting stats came due and called for 450 points per uprade, I couldn't handle it anymore.

My settings are I play some fielding opportunities and lead off base running opportunities. I usually only make 70-110'ish points in a good game, and it is not uncommon to get a 30-50'ish point game. So based on that I think I probably make an average of 400-500'ish points per week. Yet some of these stats are calling for 450 points per upgrade, and they are mostly all needing attention now.

Help?

I think it's just a problem that lots of people will encounter now that we can take our RTTS guys a full 15 seasons or so in the majors. Hopefully they address that issue in next year's game, but yes, it's far too hard to maintain multiple excellent attributes.

The nice thing about the old point system was that you just needed to add 40 pts at a time to something to "maintain" it, and it often affected at least 1 or 2 other attributes as well.

I liked the old system of it taking 400 pts to increase a top attribute, but you could add to that attribute 40 pts at a time. This year you have to contribute all 400 at once and it makes it impossible to maintain them all.

You can only play 15 years in the Majors? That would suck if that is the limit.

No, I was just picking a number. My guy will be playing until he's 60. Minnie Minoso style.

I don't understand this, I'm new to RTTS can someone explain to me?

So once you upgrade an attribute at a certain point the attribute loses points? Would appreciate help, that seems confusing.

Yeah, I don't quite understand it either. In previous Shows, you could just maintain your stats at a sane pace, and they'd only really fall off if you got old or you neglected them. You could just put a little bit of points into them to keep them "fed," and you generally got enough points after each game to do that. Akin to, "do you play 3rd base? Keep playing 3rd base and you'll be okay! Do you hit for average? Keep hitting for average and you'll be okay!"

Sounds like here, the skills that define you will start to fall off fast and you can't do anything about it except spend all your points to keep them upgraded. Which means neglecting everything else, and becoming a one trick pony. Basically it's a sort of "fiscal year cannibal" model where unless you're constantly growing at an obscene rate and leaping up the ladders, you're gonna fall off the horse and never get back on. And at some point you'll never be able to outpace nature. Even if you're a talented rookie.

Maybe it has to do with the "potential" rating? Like unless you're A, you literally cannot be a great player, so you might as well keep recreating characters until you do perfectly in the showcases?

Or maybe it's a horrible secret gimmick to make you pay for stubs, but I'm not cynical enough to believe that yet.
