Refund Denials for Digital Buyers

Hi Everyone,

After yesterday's issues/delay with MLB's digital version, I opted to cancel, get a refund from Sony and went out and purchased a physical copy of the disc. Earlier today, I received an e-mail from Sony denying my refund with a reference number and suggest to contact sony if I have any questions. Well, I contacted them and they refuse to give me an opportunity to speak to the people processing these refunds.

Long story short, I am looking to get in touch with anyone who attempted to get a refund yesterday and either failed to get one or was promised a refund that was later denied. I am a law student with plenty of time on his hands and I am considering starting a class action suit against Sony to reimburse those of us to whom they failed to deliver their product to.

See the e-mail below:

Yep we were trying to tell people that you were not guaranteed a refund. They simply was just opening a case for you that would be reviewed.

This is why I just sucked it up and waited for it to be ready. Although I saw a lot of people with screen shots showing an online rep granting them a refund and saying it would take 5 business days for the funds to be returned. Sounds like Sony knew what was going on and wanted to double dip here. Pretty gutless.

It has nothing to do with sony screwing people over. Things happen. It was delayed. Im fairly certain it says somewhere in the ToS that no one ever reads that all sales are final. All the reps can do is request a refund. They cant actually give one. If people had more patients they wouldnt be out 60 bucks now.

Sorry, but just because you say "all sales are final" does not mean it is a legally sustainable term in a contract. You actually have to deliver a product or service for the sale to be complete.

I completely agree with you, and it does say that they can not even be cancelled before you finalize your order, I only read ToS when money is involved. And you're right now that I look the rep was saying they can help them get a refund and will open a case. Lesson here, if you can't handle bumps like this don't buy digital copies anymore as it's bound to happen again. Go stand in front of gamestop for 10 minutes and sell your physical copy to someone for a $10 discount, I'm sure someone will be going in to buy the game anyway.
