Advice on catching flyballs?

Hey All

Am I the only person having this trouble. on flyballs to the outfield the ball on the ground seems to not wind up where you need to be so I over run balls, run to far the guy goes into his catch stance and cant move him forward in time. I am booting balls in the outfield all over the place. Any help?

Seems like inefficient gameplay. Been watching lots of streams, and people are missing balls a lot. Even the devs. Something about player control not being fine enough when you're making small adjustments, and constantly overshooting the ball and turning your back to it.

Try guessing the spot you think the marker will end up, getting there and meeting the marker, rather than just drifting with or chasing it.

I noticed this right off the bat when fielding fly balls in the OF.
I think its because in past games when you got close they computer AI would take over and run you under the ball where as now maybe that window is smaller.

Not sure if this is something they can patch but it could use it

This. The marker moves based on how the ball is hit. Balls down the line will always drift closer to the line (or past it). Hard hit balls to center(or left-center, or right-center) will always drift back closer to the wall (or over it).

Then you have cue shots that will drift sideways away from the hitter (towards the right from lefties, etc...) and what have you.

Just keep practicing and you will get it.

For optimal practice, play exhibition in Tampa or Toronto, or turn Wind off. That way, the type of hit is the ONLY thing affecting the drift, and you will get a better feel for how to predict it.

I've only lost but one fly ball, and that was my own mistake, not paying attention and stuff. It's really not an "issue," nor does it need patching, at least not in my opinion.
