With 1080P/PS4 do we still need to use Game Mode on TV's?

Just wondering, in years past for optimal performance we were told to have our televisions to "Game Mode" eliminating features of televisions such as Motion Flow, True Motion etc...

Any word or can one of the SCEA guys give us a heads up before Tuesday on this? Has the PS4 technology caught up to the television enhancements?

Using game mode had nothing to do with resolution. Its to prevent as much input lag as possible as far as i know. Could be wrong on that though.

Yes I know I'm just wondering if resolution will stay smooth if the game is on visual enhanced modes. There for looking perhaps smoother than just straight 1080P. That way us who have these expensive TV's can put them to good use on some games.

I think they would still suggest game mode. You can play it on whatever setting you want as long as it dosent have any problems though. Ive never played on game mode and have been fine.

I play on a monitor though so full sized TVs may be different.

Not sure if it's my tv or ps4 but game mode looks just as good as "normal" mode.

That wasn't the case with my ps3 where game mode looked much worse than normal.

I just tested it out, and NO you don't need to run the game in GAME mode.
It makes the graphics look 100x better when you run it in normal mode... Wow. Thanks for bringing this up.

No input lag?

Would imagine it depends on your TV. As I say on my sony Bravia the game mode is just as good as normal except without the lag.( It's under 10ms)


I think its wrong to make a sweeping statement like "NO you don't need to run in game mode" as that won't be the case for everybody.

I never play in game mode. It might depend of the tv you have
