M25 CFM - Depth Chart Question

Hey guys,

So I'm trying to do a 32-team offline coach mode CFM on Madden 25 PS3 for the first time. I've spent the better part of the last two hours changing the schemes of teams and re-arranging the depth charts (saving it every time). I go to play a game and I notice that the #2 QB (who would be #1 unless I changed it) takes the field...

Example: I traded Ryan Mallet to the Texans and set him as the starter yet Ryan Fitzpatrick (using an updated roster...) takes the field as the starter...

I quit the game and check the depth chart and it has changed itself to look as it would before I rearranged it. I check a bunch of the other teams whose depth charts I've changed and they've all changed as well (except for one...).

Is this a known issue? Any clever workarounds? It's pretty frustrating. I set the charts originally to be the way I wanted my league to be. If I wanted the computer to pick who starts (for my own team and the CPU), I would've just done a 1 team league...

Re: M25 CFM - Depth Chart Question

I think depth charts have an annoying habit of resetting during preseason. They might reset one more time during the changeover between preseason week 4 and regular season week 1. After that, they should stay put the rest of the regular season.

Otherwise, if it's still doing it throughout the regular season, it's likely a bug with 32-team control. I haven't played much 32-team control CFMs because they take a ton of planning time usually if you really want to fine tune everything.

Thank you. I appreciate the response.

This is my first time trying a 32-team CFM. I really want the opportunity to run everything as I think I should be, not necessarily the randomness that tends to occur in Madden. I hope that one day EA gives us the opportunity to literally control everything - fully editing players, creating schedules, etc.

Re: M25 CFM - Depth Chart Question

are you saving each depth chart change before you switch to the next team?

Re: M25 CFM - Depth Chart Question

So I decided to start over with a new 32 coach CFM. Sim'd all through the preseason, made the cuts, etc. I've planned it out, spent all night on it (with the usual occasional freezes).

I'm now in Week 1. I've been going throw every team to re-order the depth chart... and now I go back to recheck some of them and they've all reset to what the computer originally had them... what gives?

Has anyone else experienced this or is it just me? I was really hoping that this was just a pre-season thing, as in my initial post. Is there any fix here?

I have "Instant Starter" turned off for all teams because I figured that was only applicable if you were playing as a player. Is it possible that this is the cause? Does the game reset depth charts to automatically put the higher rated guys there? There isn't a "CPU Set Depth Chart" option that I see in the menu, otherwise I would have obviously turned it off.

The level of frustration experienced from these uncorrected/unnoticed bugs and glitches really is palpable. It's like the don't even test the product...

... but anyway, any help would be appreciated. I'm (or was) really hoping to finally do a 32 team franchise that I could do right.
