The NEAC: D–I Men's Basketball

About the Northeastern Athletic Conference*:
The NEAC is located in the Northeastern part of the United States, comprising of member colleges in the states of Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New York, Delaware, and Maryland. NEAC headquarters are located in Baltimore, MD.

The NEAC is comprised of 8 member schools, all participating in NCAA Men's Division I Basketball, subject to all NCAA rules and regulations.
The member schools are:
Baltimore University Wolves
Bel-Air [College] Royals
Buffalo [University] Bilikens
Camden University Wildcats
Dover [University] Colonials
Harrisburg College Miners
Hartford University Lumberjacks
Rochester [University] Challengers

Athletic—Student Union
All competing basketball team participants will be required, each week, to answer one (1) question to maintain their athletic eligibility. Any failure to answer will result in a one-game suspension at the first offense and further violations will be the subject of an academic inquiry.

Postseason Basketball
All eight (8) members of NEAC regular season play will compete in an early March tournament, will the seeding as follows, based on final regular season standings:
8 seed at 1 seed
6 seed at 3 seed
5 seed at 4 seed
7 seed at 2 seed
The winners will advance to play the winner of their paired game.
The winner of the postseason tournament receives an AUTOMATIC NCAA March Madness berth, while the second-place finisher or regular season champion is normally considered a "Bubble team."

D-I Participatory Awards
Those players deemed to be receiving-worthy of the following awards will be presented with them at the conclusion of the NEAC post-season tournament.
MOP: Awarded to the player judged by Commissioner AJ113 to have been the most outstanding player of the NEAC.
FR of the Year: Awarded to the player deemed the most outstanding in the NEAC in his first year of eligibility.

Recruiting
The NEAC will recruit from XXStormXX's C-10 conference. Any OS member wishing to be recruited for the next year without passing through the C-10 can sign-up in the NEAC CAP Sign-Up thread or PM myself or quinnguy66 anytime. You will be offered a scholarship by any team.

*Not the real-life Northeastern Conference, a D-III conference. All mentions of the NEAC are fictional in this context.

Please do not post until I give the go-ahead.

Re: The NEAC: D–I Men's Basketball

The CAP Draft Potential Meter

This meter will in-game based, used to determine a CAP's chance to enter the NBA draft.

This meter, from one to one hundred (1—100) is added to by good in-game performance and subtracted from by poor in-game performance. Additionally, interviews after excellent games or KEY games can add to the meter.

Each CAP has a separate meter, with all starting at 20%.

ALL CAPS MUST HAVE 70% OR MORE TO ENTER THE DRAFT, WITH 90% IDEAL FOR A FIRST-ROUND SELECTION.

This keeps players in school longer!
Oh, by the way, I keep track of these things. SO don't complain if you feel slighted in some way.

Ways to add to the meter:
The best way is by performing well in postseason or Nationally Televised games.
This means that the better your team does, the better chance you have.
Hitting game-winners, highlight dunks/blocks can also help, though much less than being good in the NCAA tournament. So...

Updating/Improving your player——>Your team gets better——>They go further——>More chances to shine——>Points added to meter.

Ways to detract from the meter:
Tough to do...
Not showing up in big games is the main way.

To find out where you are on the meter, post or PM me.

Live Twitter Feed From Game 1, HAR @ BUW

Nationally Televised Game

—Congrats @mb25 for the first points in NEAC history!

—OHHH! What a dunk by Omero Kai!

—Boy, Shaq Davis just can't stop fouling people.

—Oh, Weaver with a spectacular dunk!

—Another foul by Davis, and he'll finish the first half on the bench with 3 fouls.

—The Lumberjacks are 9/12 from the line, and are making their living off 10 Baltimore turnovers.

—The first half ends with a score of 31—16 for Hartford, really big letdown from the Wolves here.
