With the defending Triple Crown and AL MVP Winner the Tigers begin their 2013 quest to claim World Series 5
The Tigers as much of Major League Baseball now knows can make it far in the postseason
The Tigers who are coming off a 88-74 2012 and a wild chase for the crown of the AL Central made it through with quality pitching from 2011 Cy Young winner Justin Verlander and of course Prince Fielder and the 1st AL Triple Crown winner since 1967 Miguel Cabrera as many now pick them to win in 2013 because of new addition Torii Hunter
The Tigers Manger for 2013 Jim Leyland said "If we make the World Series it will be because of our big bats"
He also commented that there is a good SS in their Triple A Affiliate the Toledo Mudhens named Jose Iglesias who if Peralta leaves can become the next great Tigers Shortstop if he is given about 2-5 years
