RTTS Pitcher Issues

I started a season as a starting pitcher.. I got drafted by the White Sox and they were awful with a 64-98 record.. The issues I see are first the fielding errors.. many times a SS drops a groundball and as long as he attempts a throw it is ruled a base hit and also if that error results in a run it is considered earned which is frustrating...the bullpen sim is also terrible as more than 6 times i was ahead by 3+ runs when taken out and they manage to blow my win.. The biggest frustration is in the offseason i was forced to resign with the White Sox even if I refused to sign their contract.. I was wondering if anyone was experiencing similar issues.

Re: RTTS Pitcher Issues

Are you talking about the animation where the infielder bends over and bobbles the ground ball?

If so, I agree with you.

I talked with a Dev about it last year but I'm not sure we quite see eye to eye on how it should be ruled.

Even some of the other CD attendees didn't agree with me ! LOL!

It's a judgement call, for sure. In my opinion it should be ruled an error but that's also why the MLB hires official scorers. I think we all view it differently. Though in my opinion it should almost always be ruled an error.

Ya that is exactly what happens... Also I just had a drop third strike swinging and the catcher threw it 5 miles over the first baseman's head and a guy scored from 2nd and it gave me the earned run!!

I see the exact same thing also and yes it is frustrating as it should be ruled an error. But as Heros said it is mainly up to the Official scorers The Show must have the bad one

You can't sign with another team until you've done 6 years of MLB service time soooo I don't get you there. xD

Ok and what does a cut or increase in pay do for you in Rtts?... you cant buy attributes with that money or a fancy house so the money thing is pretty stupid...Another thing I was third in the rotation got "hurt" and put on the disabled list.. I fully recovered and now they kicked me out of the rotation for 3 weeks now.. i think franchise mode is the way to go in this game because of the stupid A.I.!

All of the things you are upset about are true to life. Players are essentially property of the team that drafted them until they achieve free agent eligibility (6 years of MLB service, or if their current team chooses not to re-sign them). By declining to sign, you are essentially retiring. If you want to play again they have first rights and only have to pay you 80% of your previous salary--hence Knight's joke. Request a trade, and hope for the best, or start over.

Plenty of players--on a very regular basis--lose their spot in the rotation or lineup by coming off of the DL to find someone else has been performing well in their spot. Even if the new guy isn't doing so well, they will ease players back into the starting role. This is the minors: player management is a lot different than the majors. Sounds to me like the game is doing a great job of being realistic.

As for the errors, if it's a hard hit ball knocked down, then it probably is ruled correctly. If it's fairly routine, then maybe it needs patched. I'd have to see the play.
