OSFC- Southern 500

The rain finally went away and not even mother nature could put out the red hot fire of a start from Dale Jr.

JG24 once again gets burned on a restart, Joey Logano makes it 7 for 7. Chase is almost filled up.

Darlington is next. Race 8 of 13 of the segment.

Short Week this week, times moved up as well. It's a Saturday Night Race

Also big thanks to Aggies for stepping in to help last week

Once again, if you have any questions, feel free to post here. Cause I'm sure I forgot something

I'm gonna borrow this from Mike,

Pick the amount of cars based on the place you are picking, if you pick 2nd pick 2 cars, 5th 5 cars, and so on.

Place the driver who you want the most at the top, 2nd most 2nd, and so on until you fill the list based on how many you need.

As I gather the list I will mark off cars from your list that have been taken. I will then take the driver who is highest on your list, that is left.

Please send me a PM with your picks. We are all members here at OS, and it's much easier to deal with it all in one place.

If I mess up, please let me know ASAP.

Please don't submit your picks on this thread, unless you want everyone in front of you to know who you really want.

Finally, don't forget to have fun

Jeff Gordon is leading the points now. Not that it matters with the Chase.

Pretty sure points leader is guaranteed a spot IIRC

But it's unlikely he'd remain #1 after 26 races, without a win.

On the other side, those wins by Busch and Harvick don't seem so guaranteed at that tire fire known as SHR these days. 25th and 26th in the standings and Harvick is less than a race out of the top 30. 7 winners in 7 races and guys like Gordon, Johnson, Hamlin, Kenseth, and Stewart (maybe) haven't even won yet so pretty sure we'll see at least 12 different winners. Vickers, Kahne, Biffle, and Ambrose are 4 other names that might get wins, especially with 2 road courses in the first 26. Once tracks start repeating a bit I'm sure the chances of 16+ winners will go down, but Talladega is another track where any one can win, and although if someone like Ragan were to win again, he might not make the Chase, but he could keep a guy out like Busch or Harvick that struggles to get to the top 16 in points (I think it is unlikely someone is outside the top 16 and has multiple wins, though Busch or Harvick could make that happen).

I don't see an official points report, but I think these are safe to call final.

Give me Ricky Craven... not really.

I think I'll see what Jeff Gordon can do this week.

Hah, I still remember the one race he won at Darlington where he and Kurt Busch's cars were literally stuck together as they crossed the finish line. Of course after you posted that I had to check to see when the last time he race was and he hasn't been in a Cup car since 2004.
