My Invented Game Mode: Bronze Team vs. Gold Team

Hey guys.

I, like most of you, have gotten sick of Road To The Playoffs. I stopped playing it a while back. The fact that people try to do really cheesy things, like take charges after rebounds, drive with Jordan every play, glitch to get multiple Jordans, etc. really ruined the game mode for me.

Recently what I decided to do to combat this was to "create my own game mode". This is putting up my All-Bronze Team vs. any team that I face. 99% of the time, it would obviously be against an all gold team. I was expecting to get really pissy and hate it, but it's actually the most fun I've had with the game in a while.

Why would it be fun to play an all bronze team versus an all gold team? Simply, you aren't expected to win. You don't expect yourself to win. It's like playing a game that you got on the hardest difficulty. Despite these expectations to do poorly, or to not win it can be incredibly rewarding. When you get that win it feels amazing. When you lose a really close game, it doesn't matter, because you pushed someone with win-button players to the brink. When you lose, well, that was expected.

That's cool and all but I watched the first 5 minutes of your first video and almost all you did was turbo drive and pass it out to take 3s...you complain about others playing cheesy and yet you kinda do the same thing.

Granted, you are playing with bronze players but have you tried bringing the ball up the court slowly, setting your offense, running pick and roll, running plays, etc. to score?

I honestly don't find drive and kicks cheesy. It's something you'd see in the NBA. If they don't collapse, potentially go up for a layup or post up in the paint, if they do collapse, send it outside. I am able to stop drive and kicks easily if that is all an opponent does, so I don't find it that bad.

Now, I do find the first video to be not as good of a game as the second one, so I took it out of the post. (The only one up there does use PnR, and uses the center a lot, may be more to your liking).

Haven't watch your vids yet but I give you props for using an all bronze team. I've beaten a alot all gold lineups also, and I can tell that people that do use these lineups aren't even good. These people probably don't even know or even watch basketball at all. Nobody likes a cheeser but I think its fine to cheese against these all gold lineups since you're at a disadvantage every game and they need to be taught a lesson also.

I hear ya. I suggest that you try it out! It can be a lot of fun.

Are you playing on the PC?

How did you get your cameras to follow you around like you are playing MyCareer? I've been stuck playing with the side camera ever since I've been playing MyTeam (I'm on a PS4) and I HATE IT!

So driving and kicking is cheesy? LMAO these forums are hysterical. Screens aren't necessary when everyone reaches constantly.

Nothing in 2k is unstoppable and everything has a counter. If I played a Bronze team I would play physical and limit perimeter shots since most bronze teams rely on outside shooting.

Edit: I watched OP's video and yeah he does kind of zig zag to the paint. At least he is trying to challenge himself though, but his offense looks very limited. Zig zag to the paint or a quick pass to a 3 pt shot.

If im not mistaken the other team had gary payton. I tend to zig zag against him because the amount of steal you can get with him is out of hand. even on dribble moves with some of the best ball handlers the ball is flying away
