Goalie Mask Designer

Let me start off by saying that I understand many of you may not care about equipment or uniform issues in the game. Believe I agree that by far the number one priority of EA Canada should be improving the gameplay and other elements to make the game as close to NHL as they can.

So there is no need to rebut me with statements like who cares this stuff is stupid or we need 20 fixes before we think about this idea. I already get that.

Just take this for what it is......

Do you think it is feasible that EA would ever incorporate a goalie mask designer in the future of the NHL franchise? Im sure others have thought of this template idea in the past, but it just seems too easy and awesome for EA not to do this.

Here is my example:

We could be given a blank mask template that we could upload images to and then drag and drop onto the template.

You could be as intricate as you wanted adding background colors or patterns, like a flag or a brick wall or just a specific design.

You could add images on top of it and overlap to make this design whatever you wanted.

There are a lot of talented graphic artists out there that could save masks for the community to use and would give us customization over our teams/players. Is this just a pipe dream or what?

What factors would prevent something like this from being implemented besides EA's unwillingness to do it?

Well for some reason I cant post photos, so this loses a bit of its impact but if you google hockey mask template you see my point.

or go to this thread and look at the 5 maple leaf masks somebody made off of a template to get an idea of what we could produce

I doubt it will happen. They can't be directly responsible for an image that will warrant an 'M' rating and still maintain the E10 or whatever the rating is. The capability is there, but look at the images coming out of the call of duty games from the different layers guys put on that create some pretty effectively crude images. Guys will always say whatever they want on the mics, but the mute feature is the loophole there.

No they wouldn't. There is no way EA could implement that without some sort of reporting feature. If they don't have that, you'd never see custom stuff online. That was a huge reason why the Nascar games never showed custom skins.

I also think even with a repeat feature, EA wouldn't want to deal with all the reports of people with huge dicks on their goalie mask.

Well in NCAA 10(?) - NCAA 14 with the "team builder" feature, EA allowed custom logos, however before you entered any game mode involving these "team builder" teams, you got a warning that said "some images may be offensive" or something to that effect.

The WWE (now WWE 2k) series had similair features.

There's absolutely no reason why EA cannot implement a feature like this into its game. It just decides not to.

I think we can agree, other things should be fixed before something like this is bought into the game. However I am a youtuber with a goalie be a pro and something like this would be amazing at making my little NHL'er personal

I agree that their are other priorities for sure. Im not sure how they allocate resources but somewhere along the development cycle over several editions of this game they could get a technology up and running.
