Re: Palming Violation

It's rare. But I see it called every so often--and in those instances it's usually blatant. Strictly enforcing palming simply is not conducive to the product that the NBA is selling.

Re: Palming Violation

What's sad is that it's not just the NBA.. NBA has been getting away with it since I've been watching basketball, so it's not much new there.. But I'm against it completely when you see it not called regularly is High School games now.

Yeah very rare call.

Im more concerned with players getting 15 steps before they have to put the ball on the floor. Rip was famous for this.

Re: Palming Violation

Palming has been unofficially accepted ever since Earl Monroe was lighting up the league. Of course, this makes it impossible to stop the ball-handler and defenses must necessarily collapse on him.

Most embarrassing is when these guys palm the ball when they are under zero pressure from a defender. Just a complete disregard for technique.

Showtime. These guys need to learn how to dribble properly and to stop walking.
