Doing your time in RTTS The Minors

How many of you enjoy spending time in the minors in RTTS? With those long stressful bus rides around the country to cities you never heard of, sitting next to one of your teammates who keeps making those dirty jokes and might never make the show. But you don't care rocking that nice Fisher Cats cap you just had a good week hitting, fielding, if there was a definition for beast mode it would be you. Not many people can say they get paid to be a ball player for a living but you can.
Back in the day in older versions when I sucked at RTTS I would spend years in the minors just waiting for the call up that would never come or when I did make the show I wouldn't last very long and get sent back down. It was frustrating and I hated it but that has changed over the years I have enjoyed my time in the minors not only do I get extra development time the longer you stay but you are wearing those nice uniforms beating teams with those weird names and playing at those beautiful ballparks.

Id be good with the option to start out at 65 rating overall and on the bench in the Majors instead, Forget ROAD TO, just give me The Show. Getting some pinch hitting and around one start every series or two and make the team strictly on my stats not "goals"
But that being said I understand a lot of people dig making it the old fashioned way...

I like the time in the minors as well. I remember playing a year on the PS2 when it took me over 2 full seasons before I made it to the show to stay.

I don't like the goals though, they are better than they used to be though. I wish the game was better at letting stats decide your fate as well. I wish there were goals for contract incentives though.

Ya I kind of have more fun in the minors, even if my time down there is short lived. You still have that goal to get to the Majors, once youve been up for a while it kind of loses its luster, for me anyway.

Re: Doing your time in RTTS The Minors

I enjoy playing down in minors in RTTS. I have played so many RTTS games in various positions over the past years so I can now expect certain things to happen when I just do the things that I know is the most effective thing to advance, etc.

I think there are many ways in which the mode can still grow from the current state to make the experience more enriching. There was even a huge thread discussing RTTS recently.

I like being in the minors, I just wish it didn't always feel like you had to manipulate the goals to progress at the right pace. What I mean is, I always end up having to intentionally fail goals because I know if I don't I will get called up to the majors and not be ready ratings wise. My player will struggle in the majors, so then I have to intentionally fail goals to get sent back down so I can get more playing time and against appropriate competition. If the manager logic and promotion system worked better I wouldn't mind spending 2-3 years in the minors every year.

The minors for me is just a small step to the bigs and I want to spend as little time there as possible because I want to start my major league career against the best right away and not wait for years floundering in the minors against bad pitching, bad fielding and bad teams, but that's just me.

I love that the minors are there and the way they are. It's baseball baby, its my own little bull Durham. I love to look for that old washout that's not done with the game yet who will give you the jaded wisdom, look at those I'm competing against for roster spots, and there are extremely few Harper's and Struassburg's in the world that fly through the system to the bigs. The Road to the Bigs is an important part of playing a pro in baseball.
