PS4 5.1 audio bug gone after update?

This might be oldish news or not (I didn't see anything about it) but I thought I better post it. The PS4 had a system update today to patch in support for Sony's wired and wireless headsets. I thought, "hmmm, I wonder if that might have changed anything with 2K14." Well, I've played two and a half games now (12 minute quarters) and that horrible audio crackle/pop hasn't reared its head. I've had the odd slight hitch, where it seems to skip for a second (which was around in 2K13), but not that horrible non-stop cacophony that has plagued the game on PS4. The game is so much more enjoyable when you can hear it as it was meant to be heard (not freaking stereo from your TV). I'll update if it comes back. Also, just to be clear, I'm using a Turtle Beach X41 wireless headset (which supports 5.1 and 7.1) and my audio settings are on Dolby Bitstream.

Okay, played about 3-4 games (12 min quarters) and the audio never messed up. I'm calling this fixed, for now. Let's see if it stays that way next time I play.

I too can confirm this appears to be fixed. Im using a optical cable with a dts/dolby enabled sound bar. The stuttering sound would normally happen within the first five minutes of play but after a hour I've had perfect sound..The game sounds so much better now!

No I don't think I heard popping any longer but the audio sure seems to skip a lot. I didn't have this issue before the update. Not sure if it's just on 2K because that's the only game I have but audio definitely skips

This is good news and it makes sense. A lot of the sleuthing I did on this issue suggested it was a problem with the PS4 and that 2K just coincidentally happened to be one of the worst offenders.

I never had a issue with my optical surround sound until today after the update...it wasn't horrible, but every now and again it would skip out on sound. So I don't know if I can call the issue fixed.

Issue is definitely fixed, however, 2k seems to be having a problem with occasionally skipping that is definitely isolated to the game itself.

Albeit better than it was, but still frickin' annoying....

I've played 4 games on the PS4 and it messed up every time.

I first noticed it online played team match up but then I played 2 games offline and it kept going out.
