Does 2K ever plan on fixing the Dolby 5.1 sound issue?

I've been wondering about this also. This the only next gen game I have the 5.1 surround sound issue. It's annoying that the game audio skips or turns off completely and the game commentary doesn't come out the center channel speaker properly.

The problem is the announcers and the crowed share the same channel. It makes the game sound terrible at higher volumes or while wearing headphones.

I think they've been too busy trying to make sure that most people can even actually play any of the game modes.

That's one of the problems. That issue in particular is specific to Xbox One I believe. The PS4's is a whole different enchilada that is actually IMHO worse as the sound just skips and eventually completely cuts out.

i've heard it's a ps4 sound issue / bug that will be fixed in a ps4 update

i have had this issue with a few other games but far less freq

Subscribed. If this sound cutting out issue for the ps4 version can get addressed relatively soon, I may pick the game back up for another go.
